Advanced testosterone replacement therapy protocol at Atlanta Men's Clinic.

Low testosterone is no laughing matter. The difficult condition is not fatal. But, those suffering from low t may experience a massive drop in quality of life.

Hypogonadism

Low testosterone, clinically referred to as hypogonadism, is defined by the body’s inability to produce healthy levels of the sex hormone testosterone. Patients debilitated by the condition may experience hair loss, a decrease in muscle mass, increase in body fat, lower libido, erectile dysfunction or even depression.

Low testosterone in your 20’s

Low t is most often suffered by aging men. The body naturally produces less testosterone with age. By a man’s late 20’s to early 30’s, the individual will begin to lose an average of 1% of their testosterone levels each year. However, some individuals suffer low t much sooner.

While it is rare, young adults are also susceptible to hypogonadism. Men in their 20’s suffering from low t is often caused by physical trauma, such as damage to the testes that prevents proper function.

Type II diabetes, Pituitary disease and sickle cell disease are three examples of medical conditions that may cultivate symptomatic low testosterone. Substance abuse may also play a role. Anything from alcoholism to opioid abuse can lower testosterone levels.

Testosterone replacement therapy

Low testosterone in young adults is rare. However, it is often an even more serious issue. Men in their 20’s suffering from the condition may be doing so because of an even more serious underlying disease or other medical concern. It is important to get your levels checked to see if you feel that you are suffering from the symptoms of low t.  Find out of you’re a candidate for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
